Starting solids: when to begin and what to track
Solids are a big, messy, exciting step. Introducing foods one at a time — and writing them down — makes it easy to see what your baby loves and to catch any reaction early.
When to start
Most babies are ready around 6 months, when they can sit with support, hold their head steady and show interest in food. Signs of readiness matter more than the exact date.
One at a time: introduce a single new food and wait 2–3 days before the next, so any reaction is easy to trace.
What to log
- Each new food and the date you introduced it.
- How your baby reacted — liked, refused, or any rash or tummy upset.
- Textures that worked (puree, mashed, finger food).
How to track solids in Malyatko
- Tap Solids and note the food and reaction.
- Everything is saved in your journal with a date.
- Scroll back any time to review preferences and possible allergens.
Keep milk feeds going alongside solids — log them under feeding as usual.
